Cloneware: templates for Claude Artifacts and ChatGPT Sites
Plain SQL
A private database with a SQL editor and MCP tools for your AI agent.
Plain SQL gives a small team one persistent SQLite database in a private ChatGPT Site. Create your own tables, manage rows in the browser, and let an AI agent work with the same data through MCP.
Included
A table browser with column definitions.
Forms to create tables and add, edit, or delete rows.
A SQL editor for one statement at a time.
Three MCP tools: list_tables, query_sql, and execute_sql.
Full project source and setup instructions. Each new Site starts with an empty database.
Start
Open the project in ChatGPT or Codex with Sites enabled and follow SETUP.md. Create a new private Site with a D1 database named DB and the MCP capability, then publish it. No external API key is needed. Install the generated Site plugin to use the MCP tools when your account and workspace permit it.
Requirements and limits
Requires a ChatGPT plan with Sites. MCP plugin creation also needs the relevant workspace permissions; a website can publish successfully while plugin creation remains blocked.
All people allowed to use the Site share the same database and can change its data. Keep access private to trusted users. There are no separate application roles or per-user data boundaries.
Uses SQLite, not PostgreSQL. Read results are capped at 200 rows. Each request accepts one statement, up to 20,000 SQL characters and 100 bound parameters. No multi-statement scripts, explicit transactions, PRAGMA, system objects, file access, triggers, or virtual tables. Form-based editing and deletion require a primary key. No undo, restore interface, CSV import, or automatic data ingestion is included.
The template contains no company data, credentials, or link to the creator's database.
